About Me

I am in my 18th year in education and am beginning my 11th year as a Counselor. I was born in Northern Virginia but spent most of my life in Eastern North Carolina until we moved here 5 years ago. I received my undergraduate from North Carolina State, GO WOLFPACK! I then received my Masters and my Ed.S in School Counseling from the University of West Alabama.. I have been married for over 12 years and have three awesome children who are all at least seven years apart, crazy, I know. The most important thing about me is that I LOVE being a counselor and an active part of the CTE family. By merging these two I am able to help our students find their calling while working with them to gain the skills they will need for life-long success.

The mission of DeSoto County's Career and Technical Education program is to cultivate the potential in our students by integrating rigorous classroom instruction with relevant, work-based experiences that inspire, guide and empower them for post-secondary college and careers. Our CTE programs will bridge the academic, employability and technical skills that prepare our students for leadership roles in the working world.
We are committed to providing ongoing and current courses and curriculum to assist our students in planning for their futures. We currently have eleven Career Pathways: Automotive Service, Construction Technology, Culinary Arts, Digital Media, Engineering, Health Science, Industrial Maintenance, Information Technology, Law and Public Safety, Logistics, Marketing, and Welding.
Our Pathways provide an overall emphasis on developing work-place skills and academic rigor that enables our students to become better qualified to compete for a career of their choosing. Our career courses allow students to discover their talents, skills, and abilities and then chart an appropriate path toward career choices in order to produce a more informed, satisfied, and productive workforce.
Our applications will open in January, please check back to apply.
